The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety is well underway with clients completing their mandatory submissions.
Leecare have been asked to assist in a range of ways – and would like to offer clients support as needed.
Leecare are also demonstrating key features of the program to various legal professionals pro bono, to ensure they can assist our mutual clients prepare the most relevant details possible – if you would like such a consult we can either conduct these in person or provide a Webinar to your team, regarding basic functions that may aid identify key data areas.
Some hints re preparing details we have identified so far for clients:
- Documents that may include details / information to prepare your submission:
- A recent past Accreditation Self Assessment which describes your policies and procedures
- Your Continuous Improvement Plan from P5Exec or otherwise
- Your Quality Assurance/Audit program identifying what you do each day, week, month, 6 months etc. to audit your systems and check Quality – this can be extracted from the P5Exec Tasks calendar feature – tagged Quality
- Incidents: print only the reports from the Individual Record History that are relevant as the ‘Complete Client Record’ includes every save of every form and will not provide the required detail in an easy to read format as it is designed to prove ‘saved data’ on a given date for e.g. a coronial inquest.
- Incidents: access the feature Reports/Quality Statistics and print out the report for the necessary date range however, provide a copy of the attached “How To Card P5CR04 Incidents and Infections Analysis v6” so viewers understand the context of the data shown:
- Compulsory Reportable incidents: Users with relevant permissions can access the ‘View Report’ feature of the Compulsory reportable Incidents feature however an organisation can also build its own List report to display these details and provide this report. An example re the selections to insert into such a report / register is included below – each organisation can select their own preferred content:

“The likely major themes to be addressed include: quality and safety, access and inclusion, young people with disability, interfaces and transitions, future challenges and opportunities, and how to deliver quality in a sustainable way. We will look at the expectations of Australians for quality and safe care, how and where it should be provided and the workforce implications, amongst other things,” Commissioner Briggs said.
